    • McDonald's Courtyard

    • This is just a video of everyone hanging out at McDonalds. At one point, Wilmer's little brother shouts something (while pounding on a replica of Ronald McDonald) and everybody laughs and laughs. I want to know what he says!!! If somebody watching this speaks Spanish, please translate for me! Also, check out Nicty's turtle backpack. She just loves it! Nicty picked it out at a souvenir stand operated by the mother of one of my CI hostesses. It's cool how their jobs just happened to coincide that day!

    • Powering Up Potential

    • On a recent trip to Honduras, some CI staff were reminded by how huge a difference little things can make in a child’s life. After visiting the Dr. Miguel Paz Barona school in San Pedro Sula – one of the schools for which CI provides support – they were inspired to shoot this video.
    • Inauguration of New Ecuador Community Center

    • In a show of responsible corporate leadership, executives from CPX Interactive (http://cpxinteractive.com) inaugurate Children International's newest community center, which will help impoverished children in Guayaquil, Ecuador. CPX Interactive executives, feeling compelled to make a difference to poor children, encouraged their colleagues to join them in funding the construction of the B.U.D.S. Community Center, where over 5,000 children will receive medical and dental care, educational support and nutrition education. An effective model for community development, the new center marks the sixth Children International center in Guayaquil that serves poor children and their families from marginal areas of the city. The center will provide benefits to poor families who often live on less than a dollar a day and reside in makeshift shacks with dirt floors on the outskirts of a major metropolitan area.

    • Omar, Almost 19

    • I just found this new photo of Omar in my account. This one is dated 11/21/11- about 3 weeks before Omar's 19th birthday. This will be the last CI photo of him, since he'll be graduating from the program soon. I was really happy to see this photo because I was wondering whether I'd get one last picture of him before he graduated.

    • A Bright Light in my Life

    • I decided to create this set so that you can follow all of my story with Sebastian. He's the little boy I am sponsoring. He is a wondefrul cute and very bright little boy from Colombia. And he has been a source of good and warm feelings in me. Just looking at him, or thinking about ways I can make his life at least a little better (or when I dream about having enough money to make significant changes) lifts me up when I'm feeling down. I hope our bond lasts for life.

  • Hi, I would like to thank everyone for sponsoring children that need your assistance. I am sending all my friends on Lift One this message to see if they would be interested in assisting and/or volunteering sometime themsleves.
I will be volunteering at Orphanage Outreach http://www.orphanage-outreach.org/home/ in the Dominican Republic during the week of 18-25 December 10. I have chosen to make a difference with these children by volunteering my time and by raising funds.
I have committed to raise $800.00 which will help make a big impact in the lives of many children. If you would like to help me meet and exceed my goal by making a donation your financial donation will make a huge difference. Donations are tax deductible for U.S. tax payers. You will receive a tax receipt via e-mail upon making your donation. You can donate at my Orphanage Outreach webpage: http://www.orphanage-outreach.org/estrella/kennethbrown
If you think this is a good cause please pass it on to your friends.
Orphanage Outreach has been working with orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children since 1994.
