jenkinsg, 2 years ago | FlagThey are Bengali, Bengali-En
glish and English-Be ngali dictionari es. There's no combined Bengali-En glish-Beng ali dictionary or even a compact paperback edition of the each separate ones. Here, those two cost $40 each (maybe not that much over there), but they're clearly out of reach for the families. Other girls have used part of SNGs for one or the other later in high school, but since Sahida had said recently that she loves reading English books, I though having her own would make it easier for her to read at home, and having both would encourage her to write in English as well as read. And the Bengali-on ly dictionary , of course, would help with her vocabulary . It can also be useful for her parents, too. (All will be useful to all the kids in the family.) Another thing I thought of when I decided to direct this part of the gift was that often a dictionary
was one of the 2 or 3 books early American families owned, and highly prized.
