Sponsoring Children

I just began sponsoring four children from the Philippines. I hope to be able to have more in the future. I better start out with four and see how things go. I want to be able to give my children my personal attention. I am pretty sure I can afford to sponser more children. It is so hard to look at the childrens photos and not want to sponsor them all. I have to resist the temptation and make sure I am able to take on the responsability of sponsoring each child.

  • A person who supports even one child is all right with me. Also anyone who makes a donation. We all can do something for these children around the world. We can do what we can. We can help by spreading the word. Let other people see these kids so it might move their hearts.

I pity the person who can look at those kids pictures and see the poverty they live in and not be moved. That poor person who can feel no empathy for others.

  • It is really hard to not want to sponsor every kid! Smile I currently only sponsor 2 and would LOVE to have a 3rd one but I can't afford it right now. So for right now, I want to focus on the 2 I have and helping them as much as I can. Then having a 3rd one will be a consideration down the line.

  • Whenever I look through the waiting kids list, I have that old Pringles commercial in my head... "once you pop, you can't stop!" Soooo true! LOL!

I know you will love sponosoring those kids, and I'm sure you will want to take more on in the future!  After you get the hang of things, you'll likely develop "criteria" for sponsoring the next kids... an age or country you really enjoy, or something else.  For instance, I really am drawn to sponsoring kids from single-parent families, and most of my kids meeet that criteria.  Lots of us here enjoy sending Special Needs Gifts, also, and figure that into how many kids we sponsor.
