The Reason Why I Give
Hello, my name is Mr. Shannomn L.Clements and I am the proud author of sseveral books titled"From The Mind Of Mentalllll", "The Star Explorers:The Discovery", and also Psye Ens; The Hidden Knowledge. How are you doing today? Fien I hope. The reason why I am blogging today is because I wanted to give you a little insight into my life.
I was born on March 9, 1977 to two great parents, Mrs. Juanita Clements-Adams and Mr. Jimmy Lee West II. I was born and reared on the west side of the city of Detroit. While growing up I was reared to work in the family store the Clements Market. Unfortunately, when my grandfather passed away in 1985 while I was the age of 8 everything went down hill. My family has literally went from having everything that they wanted to struggling to make ends meet. So therefore I am no stranger to struggling. I had my first job outside of the Clements market at the age of ten. My job was delivering newspapers in my neighborhood. I can't say that for everyone else however because most here in Detroit don't get a job until their teenage years and mostly because they need the credits to graduate from highschool.
I work for whaat I have and I don't sell drugs period. I have in my past used marijuanna, but that was almost seven years ago. Yes I grew up like most teenagers wanting to experiment with alcohol and marijuanna, but I was smart enough to not go to any other drugs period. I used to also smoke cigarettes, but like marijuanna I dropped that colfd turkey ont the same day I quit marijuanna. N ow I barely even drink. So you can see that I am not always an angel. I believe that there is contained within us the potential for both being godlike and also devilish. But I won't go ay further. Basically I am a kind hearted person =, but I will let go of tpeople and things when they get to be out of hand.
I started writing while in elementary school. My teachers used to give us journals and also give us writing lessons. I carried that on into my adult life. But let me tell you. Before I fully understood what it was like to be an adult I was willing to do almost anything inb order to get my own place. Almost! I had gotten tired of my family always arguing so I, as usual, started saving my money to get own place. However, like I said I wasn't always an angel. And neither were my friends. I'm just the one that got caught. I hung around drug dealers and car thieves and ended up becoming a car thief. I wasn't the best out there, but what I did put a little money in my pocket when my jobs kept giving me my walking papers. Well most times I had to quit due to me having to go to nightschool and summerschool in order to graduate from highschool. Class of 1995 summerschool baby!
But anyways, my last job I had to quit because they didn't pay me like they were supposed to. For one they keopt forgetting to pay in the first place. And secondly one of my checks was shorted over $100.00. Most people think that I'm lying when I say this, but how much of a liar can I be when my mother had to curse my employer out for doing so? (LOL!) Anyways, I tried going to an extra curricular school called Focus:Hope. I passed the Fastrack program, but I kept failing the Machinist training program. My main problem then was stage fright. Communications calss was the only one to fail me and in order to progress in school you had to pass every course. I did that and even aced machine shop, but communications is what got me. We were supposed to give a speech in front of the class without our notes and to also draw up an outline a =nd follow it to the t. When I got up in front of the class I froze up and forgot everything. And so I had improvised on the spot. Don't tell Mr. Cl.int Eastwood that I got that from him in one of his movies called Heartbreak Ridge. I ended up telling a story from my life that had recently taken place. I t was a story about getting drunk with my friends and vomiting everything back up. That's why I earned the nickname The duke of Earl. Buit now I go by the nickname Mentalllll. But that's only because I now like to do more thinking in my life versus just acting on impulse. I found that you stay out of a lot of trouble that way.
Needless to say that I ended up going to prison for armed robbery. I did a four year stint in the MDOC and learned a good lesson from thsat. This is why I try to live my life straight. After getting a reputation like that you literally have to make a complete 180 degree turn in your life. trust me on that. I became UAW member working for the auto plants and earning a living up until the autoplants started changing. Again I found myself having to make a complete change in order to survive. I now write poetry, short stories, and science fiction and am trying to make a name for myelf rather than depending on someone elses.
Unlike some people, everything that I get I earn. Sure it's easier to depend on someone elses name, but there is no satisfaction better than to earn it yourself. But that's not to mean that you can't use a little help along the way. And this is one of the reasons why I give to certain people. People like my sponsored daughter Yoselin Gomez. I am now working to make sure that she has a good life and a good start for later on down the line.
I am currently trying to get movires made from my material and was told to seek a lawyer in order to talk to the movie studios. I was told this by Unity Studios. No I am not rich yet, but I am currently trying to save the money fior the retainer fee of $2,000.00. So far things keep coming up and so the saving goes slowly. But I do hope to make Yoselin my benificiary even after she is no longer eligible for sponsorship. I made this three year commitment and want to keep it. So therefore what I have listed in the Library of Congress I want to bequeath to her later on in life. That's something else that I have to work towards also. Getting the lawyer fees to draw up the will. I have already named her the beneficiary of my life insuranced policy should anything happen to me outside of the policy claims. So if I just so happen to become rich then she will not have anything to worry abiout later other than people trying to take advantage of her for her money. That's why I wrote this. So that she can see what type of person that I am. Maybe it will help her later on in life. Then again maybe it won't. Only time will tell. So I'll keep in touch via this blog whenever I can. And I will also give her a few helpful hints to accent her parents teachings. I know that I can never take their place, but I am here to help in any way that I can. Later...
